It's amazing how the smallest things can remind us of God's love. I've been battling with a computer virus and recently downloaded Avast. I started getting popup warnings left and right; threats were being detected and blocked. In annoyance, I would quickly close the helpful popup windows. Eventually I searched for a way to prevent the popups from inconveniently ruining my browsing experiences. I found the solution to my problem in the Settings tab of the Avast home window. As I was about to deactivate the popups, a thought suddenly came to me. If I prevented the popups, how would I even know that the program was working at all?
So many times, our blind eyes do not detect the potential harm that could have befallen us had God not deflected the threats in our daily lives, and because we do not see his work, we wonder if God is working at all! We fail to give him the appreciation he deserves.
God's love can be disguised in many ways. Maybe, you've lost your car keys and you're running late for work. You show up to work 15 minutes late and you think to yourself, "God! Of all days you choose to do this to me!" Little do you know, if you hadn't been able to find your keys, you would have been right on schedule....and on the same course as a drunk driver that could have struck your vehicle and killed you. Romans 8:28 says, "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."
So next time you are having a hard day, I encourage my sisters in Christ to change their attitudes. God deserves your praise in both good times and bad. smile emoticon
